$Header 
In a document, the header contains a line of text that appears at the top of each page. The header might contain the chapter name and the page number. Most word processors and DTP applications let you define whether you want headers. In Word for Windows, look in the View menu under Header/Footer. The line of text that runs along the bottom of each page is called the footer.
